ESC Fire Watch – (Spark Watch)

ESC Fire Watch (FW) training course is an instructor-led program taught by CICT. This training is applicable to any jurisdiction where the ESC standard is recognized.

Course Duration – 4 Hours

The course is offered mobile at a client’s site or at our training facility. The course is intended for workers who require training to serve as fire watch in a hot work environment in a safe and effective manner. This course will provide training for workers who work in conditions where cutting, grinding, welding or other hot work conditions may result in a fire. Fire or spark watch trained workers prevent and monitor conditions to avoid the risk of fire and use fire extinguisher equipment should a fire occur. The course requires participants to successfully pass both written and practical tests to achieve certification.

  • Hierarchy of controls
  • Types of fire extinguishers, propellants and behaviors

  • Pre-use inspection of extinguishers
  • Operation of fire extinguishers
  • Fire watch duties and responsibilities
