ESC Fire Watch – (Spark Watch)

Course Duration – 4 Hours
The course is offered mobile at a client’s site or at our training facility. The course is intended for workers who require training to serve as fire watch in a hot work environment in a safe and effective manner. This course will provide training for workers who work in conditions where cutting, grinding, welding or other hot work conditions may result in a fire. Fire or spark watch trained workers prevent and monitor conditions to avoid the risk of fire and use fire extinguisher equipment should a fire occur. The course requires participants to successfully pass both written and practical tests to achieve certification.

- Methods of identifying and controlling hazards
- Fire Watch planning requirements
- Employer and worker responsibilities
- Workplace incident statistics
- Hierarchy of controls
- Types of fire extinguishers, propellants and behaviors
- Fire classifications and behaviors
- Pre-use inspection of extinguishers
- Operation of fire extinguishers
- Fire watch duties and responsibilities
