Rigging (Advanced)

A Prerequisite for this course is the one day Rigging workshop. Advanced Rigging is a two-day workshop that covers the following topic areas: Workplace Health & Safety Legislative Requirements, and more.

Course content includes the following:

  • Occupational Health and Safety Legislation
  • Advanced methods of determining load weight
  • Determining center of gravity
  • Turning a load
  • Multiple crane lifts
  • Interpretation of rigging & crane capacity charts
  • Selection of rigging
  • Rigging a load
  • Development of lift plan for a sample lift
  • Conduct of a pre-lift JSA
  • Hazard awareness
  • Pre-use inspection
  • Use of common rope knots
  • Hand signals
